Delhi | Influencer and actor Poonam Pandey has passed away at the age of 32.

The news regarding Poonam Pandey’s untimely demise came from her Instagram page, from the team which handled her social media account.

The post on her official Instagram handle mentions that Pandey succumbed to “cervical cancer”. The news has been confirmed by her manager Parul Chawla and other members of her team in interviews given to several media portals.

The post shared on Poonam Pandey’s Instagram, which came along with a folded hand and heart emoji, read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”

Poonam had acted in a couple of films and had also been a professional model. She was also a part of Lock Upp season 1 in 2022. The season was hosted by actor Kangana Ranaut.

It is, however, shocking as the last post on her Instagram came just three days ago in which Poonam Pandey is seen arriving at a party in Goa. She had over 1.3 million followers on Instagram.

Tributes have started pouring in for the young influencer, and people have expressed shock at the untimely demise. However, social media was also rife with speculations about this being a gimmick or cheap ploy to garner attention for some upcoming project.

The comments section on the Instagram post announcing the news of her death also has some unsavory comments from her followers. It’s not apparent how long her battle with cancer lasted as there is almost no information regarding her medical history in the public domain.

Poonam Pandey will be remembered for her bold and no-nonsense attitude and fashion sense. She was one of the first models from the country who brazenly flaunted her personality and did not mince her words. Her loss is a dent to the influencer community and the creator economy as a whole.
