Reliance Jio’s portable wireless internet device Jio AirFiber was launched recently. The fixed wireless access (FWA) device is capable of providing high speed internet connectivity in offices, homes and elsewhere.

The device promises to provide up to 1.5 Gbps speed through 5G tech to users. This is, however, not the only benefit offered by the device. In fact it has been much talked about and hyped since Reliance Industries chairperson Mukesh Ambani announced it during the company’s annual general meeting in 2023.

Therefore, there’s a need to understand why this latest offering by Jio is a gamechanger and how it can benefit the modern day consumers.

The top five benefits of Jio AirFiber are as follows:

1. High speed: The 1.5 Gbps speed offered by Jio AirFiber is one of the best in the country. It is also claiming to offer significantly higher speeds than other competitors and over its own fixed WiFi solution – JioFiber.

2. Competitive cost: Though not the cheapest service in the market, Jio AirFiber comes with several subscriptions – starting with its base plan – which makes it an interesting pick for the OTT-loving consumers.

3. Smart home: With Indian households rapidly becoming smarter there is going to be a rapid increase in data consumption. The device can help Indian households meet the growing demand for fast data.

4. Portability: The wireless, plug and use model is really good for those enthusiasts who want top quality speed without the hassles of installation. The portability also increases the range in which the device can be used, leading to a better experience.

5. Availability: The AirFiber is currently available in eight Indian cities, and it is going to launch in others soon. As compared to its competitors, Jio has always believed in fastly rolling out its services at scale in all locations. Therefore, it is quite likely that Jio AirFiber will be hitting all Indian cities much sooner than say Airtel Xstream AirFiber.
